The salary range for this position is $22.75 - $30.71 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Pharmacy Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This position will be for 5 8 hours shifts.

Home Infusion hours are M-F 830a-5p

Position will have on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares sterile intravenous and subcutaneous preparations in compliance with USP<797> guidelines using aseptic technique.
  • Manages and maintains the integrity of the cleanroom environment per policy and best practices.
  • Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to confirm accurate sterile compounds.
  • Fulfills patient orders, which include drugs and supplies, per delivery ticket.
  • Arranges timely delivery to patient’s home while working with third party courier services. Conducts quality control activities centered on cold-chain delivery logistics.
  • Assists in inventory procurement, storage, and management along with verifying the safety and integrity of products received.
  • Organizes medical records such as delivery tickets and compounding records so as to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies and reports medication-related incidences and equipment failures.
  • Works within various software programs that support the operations of the department.
  • Collaborates with Pharmacists to achieve positive patient care outcomes.
  • Provides high-quality customer service to patients, vendors, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Supports the quality improvement initiatives of the team which may include programs aimed at medication and supply stewardship.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities, as scheduled.
  • Completes annual and ongoing professional competencies, as required.
  • Other duties, as required.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician License (IDFPR)
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA required for all licensed after 2008 (within 6 months of hire or sooner if required by IL pharmacy practice act)

Preferred:

  • One year or more of related work experience, demonstrating familiarity with routines and procedures customary to the position.
