Description
The Program Manager, Business Operations reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Program Manager, Business Operations leads planning and implementation activities for Behavioral Health and Ben Gordon Center operations. The Business Operations Program Manager (PM) develops work plans and metrics, monitors and assures activities are on-time and on-budget. The PM coordinates internal and external resources to execute and complete activities as assigned. The PM works closely with clinical and non-clinical staff members along with team leads, supervisors, managers, and director to develop work plans, metrics and resources to achieve the department’s strategic goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and managing the following for assigned projects; budgets, resource allocation, information distribution, meeting facilitation and overall performance reporting
- Apply standard project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle including; analysis, design, implementation, verification as well as value measurement definition
- Utilize project management tools to ensure accuracy for planning, procurement and budgeting
- Participate in analyst activities such as requirements analysis, resource identification, solution definition, implementation/work plan development, design, system testing, training plans, and rollout strategies
- Participate in analyst activities such obtain, analyze and interpret financial, quality and operational data from multiple internal and external data sources, create and maintain accurate, up to date analytical reports and operational dashboards.
- Management and monitoring of capital, departmental and fund budgets; identifying variances and reporting them to director. This includes the creation of purchase orders and processing of invoices for payment.
- Manage day to day non-clinical operations related to patient access, finance, and analytics.
- Establish and maintain effective communications regarding project status.
- Provides leadership and guidance required to effectively define, plan and implement projects and daily non-clinical operations.
- Create and execute project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements by the organization’s regulatory bodies
- Collaborate effectively within a matrixed organizational structure, engaging with cross-functional teams, departments, and external partners to align goals, share resources, and drive coordinated execution of initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Functions:
- Provide support, assistance, and guidance with ad hoc goal-related activities required to effectively define metrics, targets, and key focus areas to advance NM strategic plan through the lens of behavioral health and addiction services.
- Responsible for accurately tracking and reporting goal performance across Behavioral Health and Ben Gordon Center.
- Responsible for meeting deadlines for tracking and reporting goal performance.
- Prepare deliverables for quarterly Ben Gordon Center board meetings.
- Establish and maintain effective communications with director. Respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Effectively manage problems that arise with reporting and measurement.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage diverse and dynamic assignments simultaneously.
- Create and execute deliverables for all audiences at all levels and reviews as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Adapt behaviors and work methods in response to new information, changing conditions, customer needs, and unexpected outcomes.
- Provide year-end performance documentation for all goal types across Behavioral Health and Ben Gordon Center.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of healthcare professionals, constituencies and coalitions, including community-based organizations, FQHCs, schools, the local department of public health, and city and county leaders.
- Ability to manage sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to travel within service area, all NMHC regions, and surrounding areas
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business related operations
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Power BI, Vizio, and SharePoint
- Strong project management and organizational skills, demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills, excellent oral and communication skills, demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.

- Strong self-motivation and results-oriented mindset
- Effective problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in MBA or MHA preferred (required in place of work experience).
- MBA/MHA or another relevant advanced degree
- Experience in behavioral health business operations in healthcare system or community mental health center
- Prior experience in direct supervisory responsibilities
