Description

The Maintenance Worker II - PH Maintenance reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

Provides the highest quality of services to the patients and staff while being constantly aware of the consequences that may result from the verbal and physical actions taken while carrying out daily job duties.

Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation and working condition.  Maintains routine records and logs and determines type and extent of malfunction of equipment.

Makes adjustments, disassembles and repairs or replaces parts and components as assigned or in accordance with individual skills and abilities as determined by the manager or supervisor.

May be responsible for specific equipment in the hospital.  Has the ability, skills and knowledge to be responsible for covering a shift as an individual without immediate supervision.

Assists Maintenance Workers III and IV in the repair of mechanical equipment as assigned.

Performs preventive maintenance according to schedule and notifies the manager or supervisor of problems.

Responsible for learning and following the job and task specific procedures for safe utility system operation as appropriate to a Worker II.

May be required to respond to fire alarms if assigned during weekday hours.  Responds to fire alarms and initiates prescribed procedures when working second or third shift or weekends.

Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required, such as moving supplies, furniture and equipment.

Assists with snow and ice removal as required.

Performs all duties of a Maintenance Worker I and Craftsman I as necessary.

Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, medical staff and the public.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

No formal education required; but must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing.

Must be skilled in the use of various hand and power tools. 

Computer skills needed.

Minimum two to three years of experience in the Maintenance field,

Hospital experience would be helpful.

Valid drivers license required.
