Description

The Department of Surgery at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital seeks a motivated Colon and Rectal surgeon to join a busy and growing group.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving team of clinicians, educators and researchers. With roots in the northern Chicago region, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital is an academic community hospital located about 30 miles north of downtown Chicago. This state-of-the-art, 114-bed hospital continues a long-standing commitment to deliver world-class medicine to the region, while using its natural surroundings to create a healing, tranquil environment for patients, visitors and staff. Combined with free-standing Ambulatory Surgery, Endoscopy and Cancer Center at our Grayslake location, this is an exciting opportunity to further develop Northwestern Medicine Colorectal Services in the Northern Suburbs.

The ideal candidate will be early to mid-career surgeon able to provide the breadth of colorectal procedures, as well as inpatient and outpatient care of colorectal surgery patients. Candidate will contribute to our efforts to expand inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer care to the region while working closely with our systemwide services. Experience in Robotic Colorectal Surgery is required.

Candidate will contribute to medical education and will work closely with other colorectal faculty to participate in, clinical trials, health services outcomes research program.

Qualified candidates must (1) be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and (2) be able to obtain permanent Illinois licensure.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
