Description
The Nurse Researcher reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Nurse Researcher is responsible to advance regional nursing research and evidence-based practice to meet ANCC Magnet requirements as outlined in each local site’s Nursing Strategic Roadmap
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scientific nursing research studies for the regional hospitals
- Collect and analyze data and information throughout the research studies
- Compile research findings into a written manuscripts for application to scholarly journals and other publications
- Collaborates with system statistician program to ensure quality and integrity of data analysis
- Mentors and writes abstract writing for professional submissions
- Assists the team in grant writing for proposals and funding
- Present and support PI presentations of research outcomes regionally, system-wide, and nationally
- Present and support team to present results at conferences, meetings, professional organizations and other speaking engagements as poster and/or podium presentations
- Recruit participants for nursing research studies ensure protection of human subjects
- Assists nurses and members of the interdisciplinary team requesting scholarly articles and literature searches and serves as librarian resource
- Oversight of Nursing Research and EBP councils regionally
- Support, Educate and mentor EBP and research projects for nurse professional development (LEAD program), Nurse Residency Program, and the MENP program at Rosalind Franklin University and Lake Forest College
- Participates in driving robust mentoring structure for research, PI, and EBP across the region, meeting regularly with CPS and professional development team in support of new knowledge at the bedside (translational research).
- Responsible for ensuring and coordinating Magnet Research Projects/IRB support
- Participate in writing and editing Magnet documents for the region
- Collaborate with academic partners by participating on advisory councils and networking meetings to ensure robust NM student experiences through-out the region.

Qualifications
Required
- Nurse Doctorate degree (PhD or DNP)
- Scholarly writing skills
- Minimum two years’ experience in scholarly writing (such as Magnet) and/or nursing research
Preferred
- Prior experience with hospital-based research
