Description
The Director of Operations II reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Collaborates with medical leadership partner(s) to advance quality strategies, ensure a professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient satisfaction
The Director of Operations will engage in activities to enable to provision of high quality, patient and family centered care for services at LFH. Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, and in partnership with the Medical Staff, and Nursing leadership, the Director of Operations will ensure that progressive and coordinated strategies for the delivery of patient care will be implemented across the North Region.
The Director of Operations will maintain operational responsibility for assigned business units including surgical services, endoscopy services, PACU, pre/post phase II recovery, sterile processing, and pre anesthesia treatment staff at Lake Forest Hospital and Grayslake Outpatient Center. The Director of Operations models effective leadership behaviors to achieve organizational outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Leads teams to outcomes which support the advancement of LFH and NM Strategic Plan.
- Formulates and implements policies and procedures to facilitate processes and clarify and correct procedural problems.
- Evaluates the feasibility, coordination and implementation of new or revised systems, processes and procedures, to ensure compliance and established standards.
- Responsible for the coordination and implementation of strategies that enhance the image of Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital and the community.
- Collaborates with Medical Staff leadership and other departments as needed regarding practices and standard operating procedures that relate to LFH.
- Responsible for meeting operational, financial and strategic goals for the unit/area or program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree
- 8-10 years healthcare management and clinical experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven skills in leadership, planning and quality
- Possess administrative, interpersonal and management skills, excellent judgment and quality assessment skills and a working knowledge of trends in health care management, staff issues and economics.
- Qualified by training, experience, interest, and demonstrated current ability.
- Willing and able to discharge the administrative qualifications of his/her office.
Preferred:
- Master's degree.
- Experience in a hospital or health system within surgical services
- BSN or relevant clinical surgical experience
