Description
- Weekend rotation

- C-ARM and Fluoroscopy experience required
This is a part time position, 20 hours a week.
The Rad Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
- This position is capable of taking any or all types of radiographs with several different types of equipment. He/she functions as the first line interface with patients/customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes markers on a consistent basis.
- Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
- Demonstrates overall knowledge of exams.
- Produces high quality films on a consistent basis.
- Understands and properly uses CR, the PRID, ADC Multiloader, and QS workstation.
- Writes complete patient histories for the radiologists.
- Utilizes PACS with few errors.
- Demonstrates overall efficiency of work and time. Utilizes slow time constructively, i.e., stocking rooms, emptying linen, putting away supplies, helping transport, etc.
- Assesses patient pain interfering with imaging procedure. Makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Demonstrates knowledge of how to access Pyxis, what medications are available for what procedures and understands that the doctor verifies the correct medication upon receipt.
- Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures (i.e. good handwashing).
- Multitasks in several areas.
- Acknowledges exams on a timely basis and completely.
Qualifications
Required:
- Graduation from an approved school of Radiology Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- American Registry of Registered Technologist (ARRT) within 3 months of graduation, new graduates need Certificate of Completion from the college.
- Certified by the State of Illinois to practice and administer radiation (IEMA). New graduates required to apply for temporary license which when received is valid by the state for two years.
- CPR – Basic Life Support
- C-ARM and Fluoroscopy experience required
- Physical Demands Requirement:
- Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
Preferred:
- Bachelors of Science degree
- Previous Rad Tech experience
