Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our pediatric team in Glen Ellyn, United States. This full-time position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and provides an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, child-focused healthcare environment.
- Assist pediatricians in providing high-quality care to young patients, from infants to adolescents
- Perform routine patient care duties, including taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations
- Administer vaccinations and medications as directed by the physician
- Conduct basic laboratory tests and point-of-care testing, such as finger sticks and strep screens
- Maintain a clean and organized examination room environment
- Provide patient education and support to children and their families
- Schedule appointments and manage electronic health records
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent care delivery
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with pediatric care best practices
- Assist with various administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in Medical Assisting preferred
- Two or more years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician office setting or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program
- Current American Heart Association accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
- Completion of phlebotomy class or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to assess situations requiring an interpreter and use interpreter services effectively
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (various options accepted) within 1 year from hire date
- Experience in pediatric care or strong interest in working with children
- Knowledge of pediatric growth and development
- Patience and ability to work well with children and their families
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Empathetic and customer-focused approach to patient care
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
- Second language proficiency a plus
