The salary range for this position is $35.00 - $60.28 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Trauma Coordinator RN reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. - Develops and coordinates the Trauma Program in collaboration with the Illinois Department of Public Health, the Region IX Trauma Collaborative, the Department of Trauma and the Department of Emergency Medicine. - Integrates all clinical services and patient care personnel in accordance with the rules and regulations of the State of Illinois Trauma Center Code and current trauma practice guidelines. Responsibilities - Adheres to hospital departmental policies and procedures. - Maintains knowledge of current trauma practice guidelines through literature research review and attendance at trauma inservices, seminars, and conferences. - Maintains knowledge of local, state, and federal trauma laws to ensure compliance. - Helps to develop hospital-wide trauma protocols, plans of care, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the Trauma Director and the Emergency Department Medical Director, - Reviews plan of care for trauma patients to ensure trauma protocols are initiated and followed. - Serves as a resource person and liaison in facilitating transfers to appropriate care facilities. - Responsible for the development, implementation, and integration of a comprehensive interdisciplinary Quality / Performance Improvement program for the trauma service. - Participates and complies with the regional QA/QI plan and remains current with the region QA statistics. - Responsible for maintaining the trauma and violence registries, including data collection and preparation of necessary reports through collaboration with key individuals. - Serves as a resource person regarding trauma, safety, and prevention for pre-hospital, hospital, and community education. - Responsible for the development and implementation of injury prevention initiatives. - Serves as a resource person for development of the annual Emergency Department budget. - Represents the facility by attending regional and state trauma coordinator meetings. Participates in regional and state committees as needed. - Serves as a resource for the development of monthly trauma call roster. - Participates in hospital/nursing committees as requested. - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Current Illinois RN licensure Bachelor's degree in nursing.  TNS - ECRN - ACLS - TNCC - PALS or ENPC, successful completion of the AAAM AIS15 Course within one year of start date in position.

Preferred:  Two years of Critical Care Nursing, MSN
