The salary range for this position is $29.78 - $37.23 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Neurodiagnostic Tech II reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • This position supports the Neurodiagnostic Lab at Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital and is primarily responsible for performing Electroencephalograms, Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring, Continuous EEG’s and may perform Evoked Potentials in a variety of settings.  
  • The candidate must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written. 
  • The Technologist must possess the experience to work independently, the ability to work in a team environment and continuously strive for superior performance.  
  • Must perform a clinically competent routine electroencephalogram and long-term epilepsy/continuous electroencephalograms for neonate through geriatric populations.  
  • Must be adept at a variety of application processes, including collodion and paste.  
  • Must pass internal training and show proficiency in the recognition of normal and abnormal waveforms. 
  • Scanning, clipping, and pruning of LTME/CEEG studies.  
  • May be expected to perform clinically competent evoked potentials and pass internal training.  
  • Must be able to work with a variety of age groups and disabilities in an inpatient and outpatient setting.  
  • Maintain equipment in clean and organized condition. 
  • Report any equipment issue to Lead Technologist/Supervisor.  
  • Accuracy in charge of posting and maintenance of logbook.  
  • Assist Physician with EMG populace. 
  • Answer phone and schedule patients. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • R.EEG. T.  
  • Associate degree from accredited college or University or graduate of END technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education.  
  • R.EP. T or CLTME required within 24 months of hire.  
  • Two years’ experience in the END field.  
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 25 pounds on an intermittent basis. 
  • Able to sit, stand and bend consistently to safely administer techniques.   
  • BLS certificate within 90 days of hire.
