Description
The Director, Radiology & Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Director, Radiology & Imaging will engage in activities to enable the provision of high quality, patient and family centered care for services within the assigned portfolio. Under the direction of the local and system Radiology & Imaging leadership and in partnership with the medical staff, Nursing Leadership and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (as applicable), the Director, Radiology & Imaging will ensure that progressive and coordinated strategies for the delivery of patient care will be implemented across the assigned portfolio. The Director, Radiology & Imaging will coordinate and lead programmatic development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading teams to outcomes which support the advancement of NMHC Strategic Plan. Identifies opportunities for new business growth and development, expansion of current services, etc.
- Evaluates the feasibility, coordination and implementation of new or revised systems, processes and procedures, to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Collaborates with Medical Staff Leadership, department leaders, staff and members of inter-departmental multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes for all Imaging and Radiology patient populations.
- Collaborates with hospital leaders in developing, implementing, reviewing, revising and monitoring hospital-wide performance improvement activities.
- Participates in, or chairs, committees, work groups, and meetings as necessary. Able to demonstrate measurable results and meet target dates.
- Practices fiscal accountability. Encourages staff and team accountability by involving them in budget preparation, identifying ideas for increasing efficiency, cost savings, developing and growing the business and existing services.
- Responsible for capital planning, projects and expenditures in collaboration with capital sourcing, construction, IT, CE, facilities and other ancillary departments.
- Effectively participates in system level initiatives: NM system development, program affiliations, joint ventures, physician alignment initiatives.
- Supports ongoing learning and skill development for self and staff; provides coaching and mentoring; assigns goals, cross-training and other opportunities for professional development.
- Directs and mentors leadership team to facilitate and participate in process/quality improvement activities with measurable outcomes.
- Facilitates change readiness and agility among staff and teams.
- Leads projects including creation of project proposal and charter, timeline, budget development, resource allocation, communication plan, and information distribution. Responsible to hold team accountable for assignments and due dates.
- Establishes clinical standards, order sets, policies and procedures for the provision of services in collaboration with physician and nursing leadership.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 8 years healthcare management and/or clinical experience
- Master’s degree in healthcare related field. Relative years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- BLS certified
- Proven skills in administrative, interpersonal and management skills, excellent judgment and quality assessment skills and a working knowledge of trends in healthcare management, staff issues and economics.
Preferred:
- 10 plus years relevant leadership experience
- Advanced Certification in relevant subject area
