The salary range for this position is $23.92 - $34.69 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Assistant Manager Hospitality Environment reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Assistant Manager, Hospitality Environment plans, controls and directs all cleaning, sanitizing and waste removal functions within a healthcare facility to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives and customer’s needs.

Responsibilities:

  • General Duties:
    • Leads by example; models NM values in daily work and interactions.
    • Helps all employees make the connection between NM values, their daily work and patient and customer satisfaction. Holds staff accountable for modeling service standards and behaviors.
    • Sets clear expectations for continuous quality and service improvements. 
    • Stays informed of current and emerging issues and trends for areas of accountability
    • Makes effective hiring decisions, trains and develops staff within his departments.
    • Identifies staff’s skills and interest, and provides timely and appropriate feedback to all staff.
    • Supports ongoing learning and skill development for self and staff; provides coaching and mentoring; assigns stretch goals, cross-training and other opportunities for career development within NM.
    • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively across all sectors of the organization.
    • Creates and develops relationships with key stakeholders, customers and peers.
    • Develops, implements and enforces the departmental policies and procedures
    • Encourages those who identify problems, potential solutions and opportunities for improvement. Supports and empowers staff in piloting new ideas and solutions.
    • Creates an environment of partnership, collaboration, seamless quality and service enhancement across teams, departments and divisions of the organization.
    • Assists with identifying and implementing technical operational process changes to improve performance, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Environmental Services:
    • Maintains established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal government regulations.
    • Ensures equipment is clean and good working order; Ensures that all work areas are kept in clean and orderly condition
    • Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigating complaints.
    • Tours and inspects daily facility on a daily basis.  Coordinates the execution of correction of issues to meet or exceed customer service expectations.
  • Financial:
    • Practices fiscal accountability and identifies areas of opportunity within scope to improve efficiency and growth.
    • Practices fiscal accountability. Encourages staff and team accountability by involving them in budget preparation, identifying ideas for increasing efficiency, cost savings, developing and growing the business and existing services.
  • Hospitality Services: 
    • Provides ongoing annual emphasis of Hospitality Services "Service Excellence" program to ensure compliance of sustained behaviors.
    • Provides knowledge as a technical resource for the computer applications and hardware utilized by Hospitality Services. Troubleshoots issues and works to resolve them in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience
    • In lieu of Associate's degree: High School Diploma and 10 years of relevant experience
  • 4 years of relevant supervisory experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant healthcare supervisory experience
