Description
The Systems Engineer, reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Systems Engineer is responsible for keeping the hardware systems, their associated operating systems, and connectivity capabilities fully operational and well-integrated into NMHC information technology environment. This position also monitors, analyzes and plans upgrades, as necessary, to ensure adequate capacity and availability to meet the user needs.
The Systems Engineer will work in a hybrid environment and work 2-3 days at an on-site location. The role may involve some On-Call responsibilities and the need to work outside of regular business hours for system maintenance or emergency support.

The System Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's desktop environment using Microsoft Intune and SCCM tools. The role requires in-depth knowledge of ITIL processes to ensure that IT services are delivered efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Intune Desktop Management: Configure, deploy, and manage endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune. Ensure security compliance and manage mobile device policies.
- SCCM Administration: Oversee software distribution, patch management, and image deployment using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- ITIL Process Implementation: Apply ITIL best practices to manage incidents, problems, and changes. Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure service delivery meets organizational standards.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Regularly monitor system health and performance. Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation of IT infrastructure.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and changes. Generate reports on system performance and compliance.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with other IT departments to support enterprise IT initiatives. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune, SCCM, and Windows operating systems. Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- ITIL Knowledge: Understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices. Experience with service management tools and processes.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

- Leads on-going process to integrate vendor, manufacturer, and point-expertise technical knowledge into NMHC.

Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years technical experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s in computer science or related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in system engineering or desktop management roles, with a focus on Intune and SCCM.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator.
