The salary range for this position is $72.00 - $151.00 (Annually)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity.

Description

Northwestern Medical Group - Professional Development Primary Care Physician Leadership Role

  • Reports to the Chief Medical Officer, NMG
  • Leads development of NM Primary Care’s physician education curriculum, including identifying curriculum content, partnering with NM specialists to create educational content, and ensuring NM Primary Care clinician participation in the curriculum and other Primary Care professional development activities developed in the future
  • Identifies educational opportunities and emerging trends to be incorporated into the Primary Care curriculum or other professional development activities
  • In concert with Primary Care Institute leadership, the physician leader will help work collaboratively to meet any Institute deliverables related to Primary Care education and professional development

Roles and Responsibilities

Relationships

  • Work collaboratively with Primary Care physicians, Specialists, Institute leaders, NM Academy leaders, NU and CME office representatives, and other stakeholders to develop, maintain, and update the Primary Care curriculum and other
  • Serve as physician champion for professional development, including participation in the curriculum and other professional development activities
  • Share data on curriculum completion and performance
  • Consistently communicate with Primary Care Leadership on professional development issues that may arise

Reliability

  • Providing clinical expertise, when appropriate, to identify educational opportunities
  • Actively participate in performance metrics including, but not limited to, curriculum completion and clinical performance as a result of curriculum completion

Efficiency

  • Implementation and maintenance of Primary Care curriculum
  • Share and implement best practices around clinician education
  • Provide insight and input during planning discussions

Growth

  • Serve as leader for Primary Care professional development Collaborate with Directors and Program Manager to motivate participation in professional development activities

Time Commitment

  • Year 1: Approximately 20% of total time commitment per week. This should include any time for curriculum development, meetings, follow-up, and communication.
  • Year 2+: 10% of total time commitment per week. This should include any time for curriculum development, meetings, follow-up, and communication.

Accountability

  • Meeting curriculum development and launch milestones of launching six months after starting with at least 25% of the curriculum developed, then the remainder of the curriculum by the end of the first year of employment
  • 60% of Primary Care physicians will complete the Primary Care curriculum in Year 1, 80% in Year 2
  • Responsiveness to communications from the Recruitment and Primary Care Leadership teams
