Northwestern Medical Group - Recruitment Primary Care Physician Leadership Role
Role Description
- Reports to the Vice Presidents, Operations for Primary Care
- Serves as the Medical Director for Primary Care Recruitment across the NM health system
- Leads effort to establish NM Primary Care as the most desirable place for Primary Care candidates to practice, while establishing standards for identifying the strongest Primary Care candidates
- In concert with Talent Acquisition, Operational Directors, NU leaders, and Service Line Program Manager, the physician leader will help work collaboratively to advance Primary Care physician recruitment
Roles and Responsibilities
Relationships
- Work collaboratively with Talent Acquisition, Operational Directors, NU leaders, and Service Line Program Manager to lead Primary Care physician recruitment operations across NM
- Serve as physician champion for physician recruitment and participate in process as an interviewer and external representative for Primary Care
- Collaborate on recruitment process system alignment and re-design
- Share data and promote recruitment within Primary Care practices
- Consistently communicate with Primary Care Leadership on physician recruitment issues that arise
Reliability
- Providing clinical expertise, when appropriate, to assess credibility of physician candidates
- Actively participate in performance metrics including, but not limited to, Recruitment, Access, and Engagement
Efficiency
- Implementation and maintenance of recruitment processes
- Share and implement best practices
- Provide insight and input during planning discussions
Growth
- Serve as leader for physician recruitment
- Collaborate with Directors and Program Manager to create an environment where new physicians want to practice

Time Commitment
- Approximately 20% of total time commitment per week. This should include any time for interviews, meetings, follow-up, and communication
Accountability
- 75% of candidates interviewed by Medical Director for Primary Care within 2 weeks of successful screening
- >90% attendance at Recruitment team meetings
- Responsiveness to communications from the Recruitment and Primary Care Leadership teams
- Stretch goals
- 50% of Candidates Accepting NM Offer
- 75% of candidates completing process from screening to LOI within 90 days of application
