The salary range for this position is $44.83 - $58.28 (Hourly Rate)

Description

The Operations Coordinator, Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Under the direction of the Manager, the Operations Coordinator has the authority and accountability for facilitating the delivery of quality patient care and service for a designated section. The Operations Coordinator works with physicians and staff both internal and external to the department to facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, patient flow, staffing, resource utilization, customer service and problem solving on a given shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates delivery of quality patient care/service according to policy, procedure and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, TJC, multidisciplinary hospital regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Promotes a positive first impression with patients, establishing a role as patient advocate in accordance with the Patients First service standards.
  • Assures that service standards are implemented and evaluated.
  • Directs patient flow through the department to insure a positive patient experience. 
  • Facilitates a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care
  • Interacts with various hospital departments, physician offices and outside vendors to effectively manage operations.
  • Assumes delegated responsibilities in the absence of the manager
  • Leadership/Personal Development:
    • Adheres to Patients First management standards on leadership, communication, visibility.
    • Coordinates critical situations involving patients, staff, visitors and consults with manager or director for guidance as needed (e.g. complaints, discipline, the media etc.)
    • Identifies and communicates key issues and trends to manager
    • Promotes philosophy and objectives of the hospital, division and organization.
    • Problem solves independently and seeks assistance as needed
    • Assists manager in the interviewing and selection of new candidates
    • Assists manager with performance reviews
    • Establishes and executes personal development objectives as part of annual objective/goal setting which complements current position.
    • Assesses and communicates staff development needs to manager
    • Identifies and pursues activities/development opportunities which are appropriate for position and personal development objectives.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Operational:
    • Coordinates and supervises daily staffing to ensure sufficient staff to cover to cover all aspects of service. Has the ability to see the entire department and adjust the staffing accordingly based on patient volumes and staffing numbers.
    • Oversees staff adjustments in automated time recording (ATR) system, vacation requests and leave requests.
    • Ensures department staff provides consistent quality and customer service to all customers.
    • Able to problem solve independently and assist staff as needed
    • Coordinates and manages staff schedule, daily assignments, and vacation requests while ensuring appropriate departmental coverage. Prepares six week schedule.
    • Monitors operations in a proactive manner to eliminate potential patient scheduling problems, flexing staff coverage to meet demand.
    • Promotes teamwork
    • Assists in staff competency and training documentation, including continuing education records.
    • Facilitates orientation and training of staff
    • Serves as a resource for the team.
  • Quality:
    • Participates in formal and informal process improvement and problem solving to enhance the quality service for customers.
    • Identifies areas for potential improvement and recommends corrective action.
    • Ensures the continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments (i.e. surgery, registration, central scheduling, physician offices etc)
    • Works in concert with the technical coordinator, manager and physician leadership to assure quality imaging services and patient care.
    • Provides feedback to area manager regarding staff performance.
    • Participates/leads projects and implementations internal/external to the department
  • Technical:
    • Proficient in all systems required for the department (i.e. EPIC, Radnet, Powerchart etc.)
    • Acts as a resource for staff with regard to all systems
    • Functions as the technical subject matter expert for the specific section by maintaining current knowledge of all imaging and patient care equipment in the section (if applicable)

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience (4 years)
  • Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiation Therapy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or Sonography. OR
    • Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in Sonography or Vascular Technology. OR
    • Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in Nuclear Medicine. OR
    • Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State or Illinois AND a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • CPR certification (BLS).

Preferred:

  • Previous leadership position resource coordinator, clinical coordinator etc.
  • Certification in specialty area
