Description
The Operations Coordinator reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the overall success of Invasive Cardiology space by assuming accountability for the delivery of patient care and providing essential support to the department staff. Reporting directly to the Clinical Care Manager and the Operations and Performance Manager, this position collaborates closely with various key stakeholders within the department, including the Clinical Coordinators, Education Coordinator, and Resource Coordinator.
Working alongside the Coordinators, the Operations Coordinator contributes to patient care assessment and provides necessary consultation to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and adherence to the highest standards of practice. They also play a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies by coaching and monitoring staff, as well as coordinating quality management activities. The Operations Coordinator oversees the billing and reimbursement processes, working closely with department managers and external entities to identify and address any patterns of billing errors. In addition, this role actively participates in performance improvement initiatives, making valuable contributions to the overall goals and success of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Assumes accountability for the delivery of patient care and assists with the overall functioning of the Invasive Cardiology department on a day-to-day basis.
- Assesses the care of the patients, provides consultation and assist department staff as needed.
- Assures standards of practice are communicated and implemented. Coaches and monitors staff to ensure compliance with standards.
- Coordinates quality management activities.
- Assists with meeting compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Acts as a key collaborator with Providers and Clinical staff to ensure the medical record accurately reflects the patient’s service.
- The coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating procedures, monitoring regularly to ensure compliance with these procedures, assisting with billing inquiries and issues, and maintaining the price file for Invasive Cardiology.
- Audits documents to ensure accurate coding and billing of all Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology supplies, implants and, events times. This position will require a thorough understanding of the specific Invasive Cardiology procedures performed and will use that knowledge in order to seek maximum reimbursement on behalf of the organization through various external and internal programs and payment plans.
- Identifies patterns of billing errors and works collaboratively with department manager and outside entity to improve processes as needed.
- Performs activities and responds to patient inquiries related to billing follow-up.
- Performs administrative activities and projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Licensed Registered Nurse, State of Illinois
- CPR Certification (BLS and ACLS)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Clinical experience in Electrophysiology
- Professional expertise
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated abilities to plan, organize and direct the activities of others
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
Preferred:
- Clinical experience in Invasive Cardiology
- Supervisory experience.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
