Description

The Manager, Infrastructure Cloud Services is responsible for the management and leading a team to build and support services in the cloud or onsite. The Manager is responsible for guaranteeing that technology systems, services, and processes run smoothly and efficiently in support of Northwestern Medicine’s operations. The Manager will be responsible for troubleshooting software application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns along with systems management and integration functions.

- Leveraging AI, automation and rollout of advanced cyber controls that support digital transformation strategies
- Implementing advanced technologies in clinical and administrative areas
- Furthering development of the end user support model to help enhance modern infrastructure
Responsibilities:
- Proven experience working in a Cloud/IaaS environment (Private and Public) such as AWS, GCP, Azure or Openstack
- Investigate and troubleshoot software application issues related to the infrastructure
- Perform root cause analysis of infrastructure related activities
- Provide technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of applications or systems issues
- Provide advice on project costs, application design concepts, or application design changes
- Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture
- Maintain end to end architecture/system with integrated systems
- Plan, coordinate, assign, and account for the work of Systems staff
- Coordinate the development of annual systems plans
- Supports the delivery of work leveraging Agile, Scrum, and / or Kanban
- Monitor, measure, and report customer service levels against agreed upon performance standards
- Demonstrate the ability to “get things done”, effectively direct the execution of the projects to support the achievement of successful, on-time and on-budget delivery of IT commitments.
- Manage resource agility/versatility for all direct reports and assist with progression of employee career paths
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and contract management policies for cost-effectiveness, negotiate licensing agreements, plan for major software/infrastructure upgrades, and ensure that service management processes are used.
- Demonstrate the ability to deal with the changing environment and to lead/facilitate and manage change efficiently and effectively where appropriate
- Manage operating and capital budgets to meet NMHC budget goals
- Unquestionable integrity, credibility and character and demonstrated high moral, ethical behavior
Additional Functions:
- Present to NM operational leadership meetings
- Present to industry conferences as needed
- Represent NM at local user groups and symposiums
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Additionally, 5 or more years of experience in Information Services management of Cloud, On Prem, and Virtualized Services.
- Management experience with complex, cross-organizational systems.
- Demonstrated project & process management skills.
- Demonstrated budget management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with and negotiating with external vendors.
- Experience working with and negotiating vendor contracts.
- Excellent team building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding coordination, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills.
Preferred:
- Healthcare technology background
- Master’s degree in related field
