The salary range for this position is $62.85 - $84.85 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Manager, Analytics reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

As an Analytics Manager you will impact Northwestern Medicine’s Patients First mission by:

  • Crafting the “what” and “why” for analytical products based on customer input
  • Working with customers to understand priorities and organizing your team within those priorities
  • Leading the team in product discovery, collaborating closely with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs, and gleaning insights from data to shape clear priorities that deliver impactful outcomes
  • Gathering customer requirements, writing user stories and documenting acceptance criteria for new product features
  • Being a key contact with Enterprise Data Warehouse and Information Services leadership to define data architecture & platform requirements
  • Working closely with the Director of Analytics to thoughtfully develop a product roadmap that will help our customers deliver better healthcare to our patients
  • Effectively communicating the clinical/business value and rationale behind your product decisions to customers and leadership
  • Driving product decisions to lay the foundation for any advanced analytics/machine learning initiatives in the future
  • Developing analytic human capital through talent acquisition and professional development
  • Demonstrate the ability to “get things done”, effectively direct the execution of the projects to support the achievement of successful, on-time and on-budget delivery of IT commitments
  • Manage resource agility/versatility for all direct reports and assist with progression of employee career paths
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with the changing environment and to lead/facilitate and manage change efficiently and effectively where appropriate
  • Unquestionable integrity, credibility and character and demonstrated high moral, ethical behavior

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in data management, reporting, or analytics
  • A passion for developing innovative data products
  • Expert analytical skills in the areas of data wrangling & report development, including SQL expertise
  • Experience in data visualization and storytelling using analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Skilled at running cross-functional teams and communicating with stakeholders across multiple organizations
  • Demonstrated project management skills that can drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
  • Excellent team building skills
  • Demonstrated process improvement skills
  • Outstanding coordination, facilitation, consultation and conflict resolution skills
  • Management experience with complex, cross-organizational systems
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a health system, hospital, and/or physician group
  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience managing staff
  • Demonstrated advanced analytics experience, including predictive modeling and machine learning
  • Demonstrated experience in data architecture and dimensional modeling
  • Experience working with Databricks
