Description
The Analyst, Finance I reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Analyst, Finance I, under the direction of the Department Administrator or Manager of Financial Affairs, provides financial management services by devising and implementing efficient and effective financial management systems. Such responsibilities may involve the collecting and analyzing of information prior to presenting to management; preparing reports, expediting work results; and establishing and revising work procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Budget Planning & Development:
- Prepares the annual operating budgets. Present budgets to direct manager in a timely fashion.
- Ensures consolidations are correct.
- Ensures all contractual relationships and obligations are appropriately reflected in the budget.
- Ensures the overall budget represents a fair assessment of the likely financial outcome of the Department.
- Prepares and assists in the preparation of grant budgets.
- Implementation and Coordination of Budgets:
- Implements approved budgets, manages the department within the approved financial targets and guidelines.
- Monitors and manages the activity and balances for all departmental accounts (including grants) throughout the year.
- Manages the transfer of expenses between accounts controlled by the department in a manner that best serves the department’s needs and financial targets.
- Prepares meaningful variance analyses as required by the organization and health system.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department(s) in resolving all financial reporting errors or omission. Report all discrepancies within one accounting cycle.
- Manage Accounts Payable processing for the organization, FSM and NMH.
- Coordinate Department Payroll Processes:
- Maintain faculty common paymaster Position and Appointment forms.
- Prepare faculty common paymaster payroll paperwork.
- Process faculty additional pay forms.
- Collect data, creating reports that will enable the Department Administrator to make effective decisions for the department.
- Assist with the development of business plans.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent financial management experience required.
- High School degree required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a relevant role.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in an academic medical center strongly preferred.
