The salary range for this position is $82.74 - $107.57 (Hourly Rate)

Description

The System Director Radiation Safety, Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The System Director of imaging will support radiation Safety, Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and will engage in activities to enable the provision of high quality, patient and family centered care at Northwestern Medicine.  Under the direction of the Vice President of Administration, and in partnership with the Medical Staff, and Nursing Leadership, the System Director will ensure that progressive and coordinated strategies for the delivery of patient care will be implemented across the health network.

Oversight of system functions for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Radiation Safety, Radiopharmacy and Diagnostic Medical Physics.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across Northwestern Medicine to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the NM Radiation Safety Program assuring compliance with relevant regulations and accreditation standards while promoting patient and employee safety.
  • Directs and coordinates all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. Sets policies and procedures for administering radioactive isotopes and therapy to treat and diagnose patients.
  • Oversees the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of radiopharmaceuticals for both clinical and research use.
  • Ensures medical services meet the patient quality standards set by the organization.
  • Responsible for leading teams to outcomes which support the advancement of GAMC and NM Strategic Plan.
  • Formulates and implements policies and procedures to facilitate processes and clarify and correct procedural problems.
  • Evaluates the feasibility, coordination and implementation of new or revised systems, processes and procedures, to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Collaborate with Medical Staff leadership and other departments as needed regarding practices and standard operating procedures that relate to NM. 
  • Responsible for the coordination and implementation of strategies that enhance the image of Northwestern Medicine and the community.
  • Responsible for meeting operational, financial and strategic goals for unit/area or program.
  • Integrate health network operations within Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
  • Knowledge of IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Association) and The Joint Commission regulations and ability to lead teams to be compliant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Advanced degree
  • Knowledge of and experience with regulations governing use of radioactive material
  • Healthcare management and clinical experiences required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven skills in leadership, planning and quality

Preferred:

  • Licensed by the State of Illinois IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
