The Stroke Program Manager reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

This position supports Patient Care Services and the Neuroscience Service line. The stroke program manager is responsible for overall day to day operations of the stroke program at CDH and Delnor and support of the program at Kishwaukee and Valley West. This position works collaboratively with medical and nursing leadership to provide leadership and operational direction for clinical services provided by these practitioners, optimizing clinical, operational and financial outcomes for patients care for across the organization. The stroke program manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Joint Commission standards in collaboration with the Neurosciences Quality Coordinator.

Responsibilities include alignment and updates of protocols and procedures, managing processes, performance and quality improvement and outcomes management. The manager will oversee all subcommittee work efforts.  


  • In collaboration with the Medical Directors, supports standardization of stroke care throughout the West Region
  • In collaboration with the Medical Directors and in compliance with evidence-based stroke care standards, establishes clinical standards, order sets, policies and procedures for the provision of services.
  • Partners with nursing and professional development to develop and coordinate stroke education for clinical departments
  • Collaborates with Medical Directors, Stroke neurologists and Clinical Directors to ensure optimal performance and top decile patient engagement.
  • Ensures stroke development support and guidance to NM Stroke partners including MSU and EMS
  • Ensures, in collaboration with the Clinical Quality Leaders, successful Stroke Center Certification with the Joint Commission at CDH, Delnor and Kishwaukee.
  • Optimizes daily operations and ensures staff accountability
  • Defines and leads performance initiatives
  • Oversees West Region telemedicine program, in collaboration with Central Region



  • Minimum 5 years related clinical experience
  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field (or currently enrolled in Master’s program)
  • Current collaborative practice agreement with an active member of the medical staff at Central DuPage Hospital
  • Certified BLS
  • Licensed RN


  • Certified ACLS
