Description

The Massage Therapist Flex provides Massage Therapy as an adjuvant treatment method and symptom control in Hospice patients. Actively participates in and collaborates with the Hospice IDT and care team.

Receives referrals from the Hospice Care Team on patients for whom massage may be effective for symptom control/comfort.

Determines patients appropriateness for massage therapy.

Review plan of treatment with the Primary RN Case Manager in collaboration with the patient/family, physician, and other members in the Hospice Care Team.

Performs therapeutic massage while incorporating additional adjuvant  therapies including relaxation and breathing techniques and imagery.

Documents treatment provided and patient's response in Agency approved notes.

Participates in weekly IDT meetings as requested.

Adheres to PCH Home Health Care policies regardng all aspects of HIPPA Privacy and Confidentiality rule, dress code, and attendance.

Qualifications

Required:

Current certification as  Massage Therapist.

Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Preferred:

Prior Hospice and Home Health experience is preferred.
