Description

The Prog Mgr Innov Digital Health reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the business case, design development, implementation, management and evaluation of the NM mHealth, system innovation and clinical innovation projects.
  • Oversees evaluation metrics of NMs innovation offering with specific emphasis on user experience, focusing on the needs of patients, their caregivers and NM providers.
  • Leads the business case development, implementation and management of NM's System Innovation portfolio, including leading the annual Innovation Challenge Grant, relationships with NU, including student oversight and other system innovation projects.
  • Evaluates and monitors existing programs, assesses strategic positioning, and researches best practices, both inside and outside the industry, that lead to ongoing health system innovation business recommendations that inform senior management.
  • Identifies and pursues mHealth and clinical innovation offerings which align with the NM strategic plan, enhance reputation, improve patient and provider experience,improve financial performance, and align with NM system integration and delivering on RREG.
  • Completes mHealth, system and clinical innovation business plans for departments, Regions and NM business units and executes on Innovation strategic priorities.
  • Introduces, develops, and facilitates new business and programmatic ideas and plans for targeted NM service lines/regions.
  • Analyzes growth potential, resource requirements, risk/reward and financial benefit of proposed initiatives through complex analysis and research of market, financial, and internal factors.
  • Prepares demand (market, systems of care, outpatient, and hospital) projections in key business and service areas.
  • Evaluates new vendors and major capital and operating investments, including competitive analyses and pro forma development.
  • Gathers and analyzes business intelligence to assess future resource requirements, including but not limited to building investments, equipment, staffing, technological capability, and information resources.
  • Maintains and continually updates industry and competitive information, and Northwestern Medicine related performance in assigned program areas, including historic and best of industry benchmarking data on quality and outcomes of care, patient satisfaction, market size and share, performance relative competition, image and reputation, clinical and research capabilities, operational experience, and leadership and differentiation in program area.
  • Partners with IT, Marketing, Patient Engagement, OGC, Compliance, Analytics, Operations, Process Improvement and other NM Departments in effort to build relationships and advice projects across the organization.
  • Must have strong business acumen with the ability to work with people from diverse functional backgrounds.
  • Guides the business case development, analysis, and planning for potential innovations and serve as the project manager for guiding innovations from design through the pilot phase and potentially to scale.
  • Partner with the Innovation Analyst to collect data and measure the return on innovation for projects.
  • Support Innovation team development and growth across the Health System.
  • Attends Regional and System Function meetings to support sharing Innovation activities on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in relevant field with preference for project management business administration, public health, and engineering.
  • 4-10 years of experience in project management and health care related activities.
  • Business skills, including business plan development, pro forma development and management.
  • Experience managing projects in complex organizations amongst diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience scoping, planning, implementing and evaluating pilot projects.
  • Experience working in a health care provider environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include presentation, negotiation, persuasion, team facilitation and written communications skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities.
  • Strong time management skills and sound judgment.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complex problems.
  • Strong understanding of business, health care, and innovation and how they can align to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.
