Description

The Department Administrator I reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Department Administrator I, in partnership with the Department Chairman, is responsible for managing all aspects of departmental administration including financial affairs, faculty affairs and human resources. This position is responsible for partnering with the Dyad Directors to ensure effective clinical operations and achievement of the NM goals. This role oversees a department that meets at least one of the following criteria: (1) a net expense budget of less than $10M, (2) less than 100 physicians, faculty and employees at both FSM and NMG combined, or (3) a total FSM expense budget of less than $10M. Leads and manages department operations (budgeting and financial management, human resources, faculty affairs, research and education).

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in developing business plans for the department, develops financial, production and operational models.
  • Implements the health systems faculty compensation plan within the department.
  • Partners with clinical practice leadership, ensures effective operations of the clinical practice that will support achievement of the organizations goals, supports the provision of quality patient care, optimal patient flow, and customer service.
  • Identifies and implements methods to continually improve the quality and efficiency of the department's operations.
  • Maintains relationships with the senior leadership to enable the most effective planning and implementation of operational, administrative, and financial policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years relevant experience required (Finance, HR, Clinical).
  • Previous experience in an academic medical center.

Preferred:

  • Research administration.
  • Administration of education programs.
